Journey to the Island Wilderness
Your adventure begins with a flight to Mwanza, followed by a scenic road journey towards Ngome. From there, board a boat across Lake Victoria to Rubondo Island.
Enjoy beautiful lake views and the peaceful atmosphere as you approach the forest-covered island. Upon arrival, check in to your accommodation, relax, and enjoy dinner surrounded by nature.

Day 2, FOREST WALK & CHIMPANZEE TREKKING

Into the Heart of Rubondo
After breakfast, begin a guided walking safari through the island’s beautiful forest.
Walk beneath towering trees while looking for wildlife, animal tracks, colourful birds, and fascinating plant life. After lunch, continue with a chimpanzee trekking experience as you explore the forest in search of Rubondo’s free-ranging chimpanzees.
Every trail offers a new discovery, making this a wonderful day for nature lovers, photographers, and adventurous travelers.
Return to camp in the evening for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 3, BOAT SAFARI, FISHING & CROCODILE ISLAND

Wildlife on Land & Water
After breakfast, experience Rubondo from the water on a memorable boat safari across Lake Victoria.
Cruise along the forested shoreline while watching for hippos, crocodiles, African fish eagles, waterbirds, and other wildlife. Enjoy a fun fishing experience before continuing towards Crocodile Island, where you can safely observe crocodiles in their natural environment.
Return to Rubondo Island after an exciting day on the lake and enjoy your final evening in this peaceful wilderness.

Day 4, RUBONDO ISLAND → MWANZA

Farewell to Rubondo

Continue by road to Mwanza for your onward flight or next destination. As you leave Rubondo behind, take with you unforgettable memories of chimpanzees in the forest, wildlife encounters, peaceful lake waters, and the untouched beauty of Tanzania’s island wilderness.
